FLASKS, HALF JACKETED, WITH CHEM DRAIN VALVES

Lower half of flask has a jacket permitting heating or cooling of the contents with fluid from a constant temperature bath. The unique design of the Chem-Drain valve incorporates a PTFE plunger that allows the contents of the flask to drain directly through the bore of the plunger (D). When closed, the tip of the PTFE plug seals into the lower radius of the flask (A) avoiding the dead space normally associated with standard stopcock drains. This feature permits total mixing and drainage of the contents of the flask. The Chem-Drain valve is available in two sizes, 6mm and 12mm. This dimension refers to the straight section of the plunger (D). When open, the contents of the flask drain through three openings into the main bore of the plunger. Lower portion of the plunger has a 1/2in section (C) for attachment of flexible tubing to allow material to be transferred into a receiving vessel. The 12mm size will permit drainage of solids having a diameter to 2mm, while the 6mm size will allow drainage of solids to 1.5mm. Flasks are supplied standard in a three-neck configuration, but can be ordered with joint configurations or sizes other than those listed.
