Middlebrook 7H9 Broth is a liquid medium recommended for the isolation and cultivation of Mycobacterium spp. Ammonium Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Pyridoxine, Monosodium Glutamate, and Biotin supply growth factors. Magnesium Sulfate, Ferric Ammonium Citrate, Zinc Sulfate, and Copper Sulfate are sources of essential ions. Disodium Phosphate and Monopotassium Phosphate serve as pH buffers. Biotin plays an essential role in carboxylation and decarboxylation reactions, while pyridoxine is a precursor of enzymatic activity.
